Internships
College Internship Program
West Basin Municipal Water District provides great learning opportunities for college students and high school graduates through our paid, part-time internship program. We offer the experience of learning about the water industry in the areas of Communications, Engineering, Finance, Human Resources, Information Technology, Operations, Public Administration and Water Policy & Resources. Although interns may be hired into a specific department, they do have the opportunity to work with other departments and gain experience in an area they may not have considered. We provide our interns with opportunities to cross-train within our agency to allow a full understanding of what a water agency does. Our goal is for interns to develop their interests in the water industry, gain knowledge of how a California Special District operates, and receive the best resources possible to succeed in the next phase of their professional career and development.
