Free Recycled Water for Service Area Residents at the New Fill Station in El Segundo

Post Date:07/30/2024

Keeping your landscape thriving can be a challenge, especially as parched plants and thirsty trees take a hit during the summer months with seasonal temperature spikes. But what if there was a no-cost sustainable way to water your landscape without racking up your water bill? West Basin is turning that “what if” into reality through its new Recycled Water Fill Station in El Segundo. People who live in the West Basin service area can pick up free recycled water to use for landscape areas like lawns, gardens and trees.

Using recycled water for landscapes, versus drinking water, helps to conserve California's precious water supplies and reduces the demand on finite freshwater reserves. For more than three decades, West Basin has established a longstanding history of mastering efficient water treatment through its Edward C. Little Water Recycling Facility. The recycled water that is distributed at the fill station is high-quality, disinfected tertiary-treated wastewater that meets strict State standards and regulations. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to sustainable practices at no cost to you!

  • The Recycled Water Fill Station, located at the Edward C. Little Water Recycling Facility in El Segundo, will open on Thursday, August 1 through October 31, 2024. Stop by and fill up your watertight containers during open hours every Thursday 8:30 am – 12:30 pm and the 1st Saturday of each month 9:00 am – 1:00 pm.
