Grass Replacement & Tree Rebate
Outdoor water use makes up 50% or more of total household water in our service area. One of the most effective methods for permanently reducing water use at home is to replace thirsty lawns with beautiful, climate-friendly landscapes. Residents in the West Basin service area are eligible to apply for rebates starting at $3 per square foot of grass removed (up to $15,000 total!) for projects that conserve water, reduce runoff, and benefit the local environment.
A $5 rebate is available to qualifying residents who reside in underserved areas. Click here to see if you qualify.
In addition, eligible residents can now receive a $100 rebate per tree for up to five trees planted while replacing grass with a beautiful California Friendly® landscape, courtesy of Metropolitan’s new tree rebate.
If you are ready to take the next step in creating a more sustainable and functional landscape, please read through the following resources including a step-by-step guide to help you apply for the program from start to finish.
